The Surf Effect
USC presents a discussion about the impact of surfing on Noosa Surfing Reserve
Where: The J Theatre, Noosa
When: 5pm-9.30pm (6.30pm start)
Surfers come from all over the world to surf at Noosa, but who are they, where do they come from and what do they ride? What attracts them and what deters them?
Sit back, relax and enjoy an evening with USC researcher Dr Javier Leon and master-shaper Tom Wegener as they present a lively panel discussion about local surf culture. Arrive early to catch live acoustic music from Shannon Sol Carroll and Oj Newcomb and take time to explore market stalls from surf-focussed organisations like Surfriders Foundation and Noosa World Surfing Reserve. Unwind with drinks and food on the terrace as you soak in the laid-back atmosphere of the iconic Noosa Festival of Surfing. For those without a curfew, stay on for a screening of Save the Waves Coalition Film Festival from 8pm.
